A deep cavity, traumatic injury, or tooth fracture can cause the nerves in your teeth to degenerate or die. When this happens it can lead to bacterial infection which increases the pressure in and around the tooth. This results in a toothache. A root canal treatment removes the infection in the tooth by cleaning out the diseased tissue and sealing the tooth off with a filling material.
Will root canal treatment hurt?
No, not with today’s advanced analgesics and technology. In fact, the entire process can be so comfortable that many of Dr. Fauth’s patients doze off. Our pledge to you is that you will not feel any pain during your root canal treatment. The next day, some patients experience mild tenderness for a couple of days when they bite on the tooth.
